The Struts announce new album

Uncategorized

Glorious news for fans of The Struts. This year will finally give us something good. Strange Days, the new Album from The Struts will release in October 2020.

So far, two singles have been released. The first, Another Hit of Showmanship, in which the quartet partnered with Albert Hammond Jr., of The Strokes, is an outstanding track and should be official made the summer of 2020 anthem. Listen for yourself below:

When you listen to this song, focus on the individual sounds. Luke Spiller’s vocals are perfection. I love that he doesn’t try to suppress his British accent. Jed Elliott, the bands bassist always has this bopping bass line keeping things grounded. Adam Slack is an underrated guitarist that doesn’t get enough credit in that area. And, the drummer, Gethin Davies is a wild man on the drum kit and I love hearing those ‘big beats banging in the basement.’ Bring it all together and this band is extraordinary.

Not to mention their live show. No one can touch it. These lads are all high energy with a sexy edge that drives fans crazy. If you don’t have fun at a Struts show you may need to reevaluate your life.

The second release is more of a Brit-pop track that features British boy band extraordinaire Robbie Williams. Spiller and Williams vocal meld together making this beautiful sound that just makes a person happy. When these two harmonize I literally get goosebumps.

The line up for the new album is as follows:

1. STRANGE DAYS (WITH ROBBIE WILLIAMS)
2. ALL DRESSED UP (WITH NOWHERE TO GO)
3. DO YOU LOVE ME
4. I HATE HOW MUCH I WANT YOU (WITH PHIL COLLEN & JOE ELLIOTT OF DEF LEPPARD)
5. WILD CHILD (WITH TOM MORELLO)
6. COOL
7. BURN IT DOWN
8. ANOTHER HIT OF SHOWMANSHIP (WITH ALBERT HAMMOND JR)
9. CAN’T SLEEP
10. AM I TALKING TO THE CHAMPAGNE (OR TALKING TO YOU)

The first two singles lean more towards a pop feel but radio personality Eddie Trunk had this to say regarding the album:

This writer is a rock n roll gal and this makes me even more excited for the release. And, did you see the other names that worked on this album in addition to Williams & Hammond? Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Tom Morello?? Oh my gosh!

You can pre-order the album which is available in cassette in addition to CD or digital.
